Mr. Phong

Yesterday I spent half a day out on the countryside. Mr Phong invited me to join him by bike to his village, 15Km outside of Hoi-An. I got deep insight how Vietnamese families live together. Out on the countryside there is no organised waste disposal, so Mr. Phong keeps two piglets for feeding the rests of his lunch and dinner. He has a dog and two cats as well. Altough this looks like a farm, it's just an ordinary living house.

Then he showed me round the village and I learned about rice wine, tobacco and snake medicine production. The latter is exported to China, I should have guessed it.

Later on his wife served lunch which was execptionally fantastic. Fish, homemade Vietnamese spring rolls, water spinach, water pumpkin soup, and pineapple for dessert.

On the way back to Hoi-An I picked up my shirts from the taylor. Shirts "to measure", of course.
